[history]
THERE WAS a time when Democrats were in control of the House and Rep. Pete Stark, D-Fremont, was well regarded for his command of health and tax issues.
Today, the Republicans rule the House and Stark is mostly known as a back bencher who can't control his tongue.

In the commie-lib dictionary "CHARACTER" doesn't matter in a congressman. When the bent one was in power he had "character" removed from the Webster Dictionary.

That's Fortney "Pete" Stark to youse. He's a blue blood dork without a mouth to brain filter. Betchya he has some interesting background to find by the industrious.

Time for this loud-mouthed, vicious, punk to be punted from the House by the voters. I hope Fremont wakes the f- up and does the right thing next time around.
This guy has got to go. He's an embarrassment.

This is amazing! The San Francisco Chronicle taking a liberal dem to the woodshed.
I guess some gays didn't like the 'homophobic' remarks of Stark.

In case you missed it, Congressman Thomas (R-CA) just apologized tearfully to the Democrats for calling the Capital Police during the committee meeting the other day.

Yeah, I heard that. The Republicans take it in the arse again. Man, I would have got up there and reamed the demRats a new one for allowing their attack dogs (Stark,Rangel etc) to continue their loathsome displays of vitriol with no fear of reproachment.
This nice nice crap just does not cut it in my book. To hell with civility, what has it gotten the Repubs, other than disdain by all who trample over them without protestation
The Republican leadership was almost evidencing some testeronie in their cahonies .. almost .. and now this. Shame.

Nancy Pelosi just accepted his apology, but she said it doesn't change anything.

District 13 Bay Area loves him and they deserve him. He's been in the House for 30 years!!!
By the way, Fortney was one of the "dirty dozen" in the Congress who voted against the Boy Scouts of America. Until he drops dead, there's no way to get him out of there, though.

JC should have kicked his ass, right then and there on the House floor.
I'd have paid a lot of money to see that.

I was a senior at Castro Valley HS in 1972, when Pete ran for office. His major claim to fame was that he put a peace symbol on his bank. He was a condescending a$$hole 30 years ago.
I remember when he came to talk to my senior civics class. I remember that we blistered his hide, because we were all voting for an Indian by the name of Nordstrom.
I nailed my "A" in civics by working in the McGovern campaign, and I was dumb enough to vote for that weasel.
Hopefully, I've made up for it over the past 20 years!

I don't know, that's an awful lot to make up for. You only voted for him twice, didn't you? :=)
