Oh, there's plenty of room for legitimate detraction. The FSP insistance in limiting their focus to an initial first pilot state, even to the extent that rumbles are surfacing that the state choice election has been rigged and is a foregone conclusion, was likely a good idea in terms of directing the limited resources toward the initial effort. But the cost was the resulting factionalism over the *which state* decision, and a growing belief that the *Liberty in our Lifetime* motto was just hype, and that any FSP efforts in any other states will never be forthcoming, no matter how successful the effort in the *pilot* -or *only* state to receive the FSP intyerest will be.
There's certainly a lot of room for reasonable disagreement as to the internal directions and priorities the FSP leadership has to consider; and it's certainly understandable that entrenched Democrats, RINO Republicans and some Libertarians see the idea of 20K-plus new faces whose are those not only of committed voters, but also are seriously active, as a threat to their hard-won sinecures.
But in a month or so, the results of the FSP state choice election will be in, and we shall see.
That's just one side of the coin, however, far outweighed by the concern and dedication of the individual porcupines themselves. And whether this is the political effort to tap it or not, it remains an indication that there are those, many of them, totally dissatisfied with the existing two parties that have compromised their principles and ours and sold out the American public they supposedly represent. As with the one American in five who cast his vote for Perot, they're looking for a star to hitch their wagons to, and if the FSP proves to have been as corrupted and flawed as those thay took aim at, another will likely arise. But by then it may be too late; right now, this appears to be the best chance out there.
