"Non-Christians, it turns out, have a low regard for evangelical Christians . . . "

"The survey did not, however, reveal a general anti-Christian bias among the non-Christian population: ministers and born-again Christians ranked at the top of the favorability list, below only military officers."

This doesn't make any sense - they dislike "evangelical Christians" but like "born-again" Christians?

Its the "in the face" part that annoyed the respondents. A quiet and devout born again Christian who doesn't proclaim faith at every situation that arises during the course of the day and doesn't make a big deal about it around theirr non Christian friends is usually a very trusted person, and is more likely to win over converts.

Makes perfect sense. Certain people are simpletons. People are told to dislike "evangelicals." Simpletons do as they are told. If the media starts telling them to dislike "born-again" Christians, simpletons will go along with this, as well.
