Merry Christmas, dansy!

LadyX mentioned her son celebrating "Christmas in July" at his workplace on one of last week's threads. That is what planted the seed for today's presentation.

Well, ain't this something. Blaming LadyX for this thread in case it flops. LOL!

a neat little compact package just full of the fruit that people crave when eating outdoors.

Good, now I know what you're getting for Christmas. Maybe you'll appreciate it more than Billie did. :-)

What a wonderful presentation, dansangel !!
Just sent mail to MedProf with a link for him to see his idea spreading across America..:))
Hope he sees it soon, but I'll call him this evening, if necessary.

My daughter and granddaughter were here overnight and read it, and loved what you did.

Yes indeed - those holiday feelings should be in our hearts every day of the year - - - {{{ dansy }}}

Boy, I sure wish there had been some advance notice of this Christmas in July thing. Does this mean there's gonna be another Gingerbread House Contest? I'll re-submit my entry with a little editing... gotta win that book.

I've faced roadblock after roadblock as I have attempted to submit an entry.

Being a law-abiding type individual, I wanted to do everything right. It's been a harrowing experience, but I have prevailed.

I started out my task by going to the City Planning Department to aquire the necessary building permit of said "House." The clerk at the front desk gave me the forms which needed to be filled out along with instructions that I needed to submit 5 copies of the architectural drawings. She also directed me to other departments which would be required to sign-off on the "fast-track" application. I also had to pay the $375.00 filing fee with a certified check from my banker.

My first stop was to the EPA office and I was told I needed to submit an environmental impact statement along with a $500.00 filing fee.

Next came a visit to PETA with a declaration that no animals would be used or harmed in the proposed building project.

My check-off list included that I would not waste any electricity during construction since Gray Davis' energy policies have depleted any "extra" electricity.

Next, I would be required to hire union labor so contracts had to be signed with the member unions of the Building and Trades Council.

I felt I was beginning to get shafted with all these "necessary" steps, so I stopped by my Congressman's office to see if he could help speed up the process. That plan didn't work out too well. Condit still isn't taking my calls.

Okay, I'll just head on over to Senators Boxer and Feinstein's offices and enlist their support. Bad idea. Babs' staff told me I would need to use the expertise of the flower children still lingering about in Marin County. Feiny's staff would only talk to me if I provided them with a donation to her next campaign and I would have to trade in my gas guzzling Mustang for an electric car.

I returned to the Planning Dept. office with all the forms signed, crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's. My bank account has been depleted, my credit card company raised my credit line, but I finally got my permit.

Construction began immediately. I'm afraid there's nothing left in my account to offer a bribe.

I made some invitations for her friends that were cute, said, "Christmas is a state of mind. Come help *Granny* celebrate."

That just rocks my world, lonestar. May God bless you abundantly for entertaining your Mom and her friends during her time of need.

Oddly enough, our shelters don't allow pet adoptions at christmas. Anyone else have those rules by them?

(((((((Cal))))))))

I'm not really sure of that. It seems that here the adoptions go full steam year round.

Yeesh! We had that same cold front come through and our high is only going to be 81 today. That's unheard of!

Good morning, Dansy! What a wonderful thread! Gosh, you done good, Sistah! Your Top Ten are very well thought out and wonderfully illustrated! (The decorating, etc. wears me out just thinking about it twice a year though! Once a year comes around too often) ;)

& Dutchess & Aqua & Freezie

Sorry it's last year's Christmas Card - haven't started my Christmas shopping yet this year! :)

"Please keep me on your ping list! "

Hey .... to get off my ping list, you'll have to beg, plead and bribe. LOL

We cancelled last Friday due to people being out of town and the extreme heat. We have not decided yet about this week .... but, if we have a Rally, you WILL be pinged!! Seriously, Thanks for your support!
