I happen to think the Bush will double the amount of black votes he received last time. I base this on traditional democratic voters I know who are left shaking their heads at Bush's committment to defend America and his comittment to Africa.

There are folks out here of all shades of gray who see with their own eyes and ain't buying what the mainstream media man is selling anymore. Hang tough, it takes time but you guys and Bush are doing a good job.

Most Freepers are delighted every time they run across a conservative or moderate conservative black, particularly one that is articulate, on this site or elsewhere. The most famous conservative black commentators and policy wonks receive almost nothing but universal praise on this site. Surely you know that.

That matter is different from whether or not Bush will get much payoff courting the black vote. I think Bush should because it is right to do so, because they are citizens, irrespective of the payoff. I also think the GOP is blowing it by not financing local black Republicans in local races they are sure to lose, at least for the next few election cycles. That is very short sighted of the GOP. The most effective tool for giving the black community a more balanced message is when they hear it from local black politicians, and hear it again, and again, and again. JMO.
