Idaho Republican Rep. C.L. "Butch" Otter.

Not too much chance of an attack on Idaho, which is why this idiot chooses to play games with national security.

Well, it didn't take long...11 comments before we got to hear from the opposition to the clear intent of the Fourth Amendment:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Butch Otter did the right thing. We do ourselves no favors by eliminating that which makes our country great.

National security means protecting the Constitutional rule of law in America--not circumventing it.

Of course, an essential part of that protection is to treat potential terrorists (i.e. all Muslims) with utter suspicion. But there are Constitutional ways of doing that.
