"You know, everybody makes mistakes when they are president. I mean, you can't make as many calls as you have to make without messing up once in awhile." If anyone should know it would be Clinton...

It's like in that Jim Carey movie "Big Fat Liar" where a spell is put on a shyster lawyer and he's forced to tell the truth, with the result that his world built on lies crumbles around him.

I have to give Bill Clinton credit for doing the right thing in this case, and for stating this position plainly and clearly. While I instinctively suspect an ulterior motive in Clinton's every breath, I believe his statements tonight on
Larry King Live are consistent with his previous public statements and positions regarding Iraq and WMDs. We knew Saddam still had WMDs after Gulf War I, and we strongly suspected that some of his stockpiles survived the UN inspections and subsequent air strikes. As President, Clinton frequently made the WMD case against Hussein, so there was no backtracking or contradiction in tonight's interview.
What I find most interesting in Clinton's LKL remarks is his emphasis on the UK's continuing belief that its Niger uranium intel report was correct. That makes me suspect that the connection might well be proven...

I heard a little bit of this story on my drive home from work. Whatever Clinton's reasons for defending President Bush on this issue, the bottom line is that WJC has FINALLY done something really positive for his country.
Nevertheless, I don't expect the issue to go away because the Leftists in the media don't want it to. They are driving it because they desperately want to bring President Bush down in the eyes of the American public. I just hope the broad American public is not as clueless as I believe they are. Come on, Americans, prove me wrong about you! Do what you should about this silly State of the Union matter yawn and move on.

This is the only positive thing Clinton has ever done.
(By the way the people on DU are OUT OF THIER MINDS with hatred for old bill tonite. It's very refreshing)

We already know that Beelzebubba is partial to bush. However, I believe he is always trying to undermine our President

If I remember correctly, Clinton was not for "unilaterally" going into Iraq; rather, he wanted to get the UN "on board". He was NOT supportive of Bush, Rumsfeld, Powell, etc.
I think now he sees the Dems destroying themselves in their recent Bash-Bush strategy; thus, is trying to lead them in a different direction before they've lost it all for Nov. '04.

Every once in a while, and this happened during his presidency too, Clinton would stun everyone and be reasonable. He would take a break from the cleverly-worded demagoguery designed to give him political advantage every step of the way, and level with the American people. He once did it when he said he thought he might have raised taxes too much. His advisers punished him for it and he rarely spoke off the cuff thereafter. But it's refreshing to hear him do it again and I suppose if he keeps it up, earning people's trust rather than trying to constantly manipulate them, he just might be something of an elder statesman at some point.

That's it; she's running in '04.

As RUSH said this morning this is a CYA situation for X42, for he used the NUKE excuse TWICE preceding the 450 cruise missle launch against IRAQ during the Impeachment time frame.

KING:" What do you do, Mr. President, with what's put in front of you"?
CLINTON: "Well, here's what happens: every day the president gets a daily brief from the CIA. And then, if it's some important issue -- and believe me, you know, anything having to do with chemical, biological or nuclear weapons became much more important to everybody in the White House after September the 11th".
First Off, I can't believe (knowing what we know now)that L.K. could ask that question of Billy with a straight face.We know he didn't meet w/ the head of the FBI OR CIA for nearly 2-3 years. He didn't care about Terrorism and refused to take appropriate action for 8 years. He's really getting in on the "You know's" now, isn't he?
CLINTON"You know, everybody makes mistakes when they are president"
Ohhhhh Dogbarf and full-on Gack!!! I shudder to think how long he's been waiting to utter those words on National TV.The fact that he's trying to make some moral equivalence to his traitorous actions against the USA and every other President is disgusting. The point being, no other President wanted to be POTUS ONLY because of the "POWER",Billy Jeff-----That undeniable damning reality resides with you and will be written about in your biographies and will roll through the ether, online forever!
