Listen to the rerun at midnight EDT. I'm telling you he sounded REASONABLE........and he did NOT talk about himself. That's because Clinton was talking to one of his few friends on the Republican side, Bob Dole. Clinton wants to please, so he gushed, and actually may have told the truth.
In addition, I sense these two men have a real affection for each other. Clinton's praise of Dole as a man who conquered a personal obstacle (his WWII injury) that would have kept down lesser men was off the top of his head. It was genuine, and it was admirable.

Seems to me that the Clinton strategy to insure that NONE of the current crop of Dem prez candidates even have a whisper of a chance to get elected.
He is going 180 degrees from what most are saying, you know, Bush lied, uranium, etc. etc.
He knows this will be picked up by Dems everywhere. He is sending a message to the pack: Your wrong and I am pointing it out.
Hillary will announce soon!

It's like in that Jim Carey movie "Big Fat Liar" where a spell is put on a shyster lawyer and he's forced to tell the truth, with the result that his world built on lies crumbles around him.

I have to give Bill Clinton credit for doing the right thing in this case, and for stating this position plainly and clearly. While I instinctively suspect an ulterior motive in Clinton's every breath, I believe his statements tonight on
Larry King Live are consistent with his previous public statements and positions regarding Iraq and WMDs. We knew Saddam still had WMDs after Gulf War I, and we strongly suspected that some of his stockpiles survived the UN inspections and subsequent air strikes. As President, Clinton frequently made the WMD case against Hussein, so there was no backtracking or contradiction in tonight's interview.
What I find most interesting in Clinton's LKL remarks is his emphasis on the UK's continuing belief that its Niger uranium intel report was correct. That makes me suspect that the connection might well be proven...

I heard a little bit of this story on my drive home from work. Whatever Clinton's reasons for defending President Bush on this issue, the bottom line is that WJC has FINALLY done something really positive for his country.
Nevertheless, I don't expect the issue to go away because the Leftists in the media don't want it to. They are driving it because they desperately want to bring President Bush down in the eyes of the American public. I just hope the broad American public is not as clueless as I believe they are. Come on, Americans, prove me wrong about you! Do what you should about this silly State of the Union matter yawn and move on.

The simple fact is BC sees the handwriting on the wall, ie popular support for the war and impending democracy there, and so its the politically expedient thing to do now. Hillary willl come along and say the same thing, and in a year and a half, all the other Dem pres candidates will be twisting in the wind. Bill and Hillary will be able to say, we supported the war.

Pretty smart analysis. I think your take is the closest yet.

Well,I put on my gloves and gas mask and went to D.U. It was so funny how most are saying,"I never cared for clinton", "Clinton should keep his mouth shut","Bush must have made a deal with clinton",etc. It's funny to see the dummies eat their own!

Oh man! Not a body double for him too! Quick, check for scars! LOL. I was thinking the same thing. Who are you and what did you do with Bill Clinton?
To: Pikamax
Have I been transported to another planet??? This is DEFINITELY fishy ... there is some self-interest being served. He would never be that magnanimous to Bush, especially when his buddy Terry MacAulIneedisawhiff is degrading Bush at every turn. This does not bode well .. I'm starting to think it's Hillary in 2004, dear God!!!!
