WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told President Bush Tuesday the U.S. military might have killed Saddam Hussein's two sons during a raid in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, administration officials said.
The initial White House reaction was cautious, though one official said confirmation the two sons, Qusay and Uday, were killed would "brighten" spirits in an administration that has been under sharp criticism recently from those who accuse the White House of exaggerating the threat posed by the former Iraqi regime.

If saddam is alive, then he can suffer the death of his special sons and grandson before he dies. They were to carry on his reign, and now they will be buried in its ashes. How he must be suffering now. An excellent turn of events!

How he must be suffering now. Be nice if he took the easy way out now.

. . . after intelligence indicated that Qusay and Uday were in the area together. Somebody in Iraq is going to be very, very rich!
Didn't we lose a soldier the other day in Mosul? I thought at the time it was kind of strange since most of our losses have been down in the "triangle" NW of Baghdad. In other words, someone in Uday's entourage may have gotten trigger happy and ultimately gave away the boss' position.
Anyway . . . if Saddam is dead, and his son's are dead, what happens to Baath opposition?

Ellen RATner was already saying that it's "suspicious" that the US would release this info right at the time Jessica is coming hoe.
Democrats are despicable and cry at every US success.

Too funny!

ABC is reporting that Saddam's Personal Secretary was taken to view the bodies and positively ID'd them. Just waiting for DNA analysis now.
They're in one piece, but "shot up pretty bad." 200 soldiers from the 101st Airborne surrounded the house, and, after taking fire, LET 'EM HAVE IT!!! (Surprised anything was left!!!)
HOOOAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the same ending to Bonnie and Clyde. Intact but shot all to hell.
