A coalition of political interest groups, led by public employee unions, is promoting a ballot measure that would, if enacted by voters, abolish the two-thirds vote for state budgets and the taxes to finance them, effectively eliminating the power of minority Republicans to affect state spending decisions.

I'd like to warn all Californians about this one. I am the teacher union rep. at my school and I often must pass out union related info. to the other teachers.
Imagine my surprise when I opened up an envelope from the union last Friday which contained the ballot measure spoken of above and several signature collection pages!

This is something everyone should be aware of and maybe someone can give me an idea as to how to deal with this situation other than just trashing it - please!

This ballot measure seems very political to me, but I read it and it appears
non-partisan (yeah right!). This is how the union is getting around the whole 'no politics' thing.

Any ideas would really be appreciated.

Hey, I already do that to most of the things I get from the union!LOL!

I was just hoping there would be something more far-reaching that could be done. Considering that I am just one union rep. from just one school, my actions may not have that much impact.

I fear I've joined the Dark Side just by agreeing to be a union rep.!
Now you want me to get in deeper? I just can't do it.
Thanks for the advice anyway. ;-)
