As an update, I shared the gospel with him this Sunday, for the first time. Pray also, that the message takes hold of him.

Thanks for the update. I'll join you in prayer for the salvation of your father-in-law.

Father God, in the wonderful Name of Jesus, I pray that the word shared with irishtenor's father-in-law takes root in good ground. Because his need is so great, Lord, give him supernatural understanding of the gospel messages. By Your Spirit, convict his spirit of his imminent need for salvation, drawing him to You by the urgings of the Holy Spirit. Send laborers across his path who will confirm the gospel message.
Lord, I ask these things fully convicted that I am praying Your will concerning irishtenor's father-in-law for You have said that You are not willing that any should perish. In the holy Name of Jesus. Amen.

My prayers with you. My father in his 70s is also not saved, and it bothers me tremendously everytime I think of it.
Keep telling him the good news - only the Lord knows his heart.
