EAGLE, Colorado (CNN) --Hearing NBA all-star Kobe Bryant deny the sexual assault charge filed against him made his accuser "sick to her stomach," a friend of the woman said Monday.
Bryant, an all-star guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been charged with one count of sexual assault. He has steadfastly maintained his innocence, and after the charge was announced Friday, he admitted having sex with his 19-year-old accuser but said the encounter was consensual.

"I do not tend to believe by default the stories of women that go to the bedrooms of celebrities in the middle of the night, and then cry foul."
As a woman, I agree with you! Woman see and hear how some of the famous athletes act and knowing that, you would think the women would be running in the opposite direction when they see one of these athletes coming.

Pappy, you're playing games. Can't you tolerate differences of opinion? That's what makes FR such a great place.

"Did this woman follow Kobe up to his room?" No, she was on duty in the front. Kobe was assigned a room on the first floor at the end of a hallway, with no one in the room next door. When she did go to his room, it wasn't "up." It was on the same floor.
Sure would like to know the title of that pay-per-view movie he ordered at 11:43.

Linky Poo You agreed to it yourself. Anyone who says they aren't doing it for the money are doing it for the money.

No one asked this young friend of the accuser about money. She brought it up herself.

She went voluntarily to her room cause she was a hotel employee and he called for room service apparently. That's been "withdrawn" in the story. She was off duty and apparently went on her own, not for the hotel. Whether he invited her or not, we'll have to wait to find out.

She brought it up herselfI doubt she was the first person to bring it up when this whole thing started. I heard about it just after the story came out.

"This isn't a shakedown civil suit. Now, maybe she did make this up and didn't realize that there was no chance at money of she filed a criminal complaint, but who knows." Although this is a criminal matter, she "could" reach a settlement with Kobe in return for refusing to testify against him. Without her testimony, there would likely be no trial.
The presence - if true - of some sort of pre-existing relationship with this "victim" and Kobe would indeed change a LOT. It would, as they say, open up a lot of possibilities.

Am surprised Rita Crosby did not get the movies that were available in the hotel! Also, don't you think the hotel would have a policy against fraternizing with the guests, since the hotel was visited by celebrities? Perhaps she used the "excuse" of delivering extra towels or something hotel related so she won't get fired.

I don't see you "debating" any side of this issue, Laker Fan. I see blind fan worship, of a scumbag. You are no better than a democRAT hack supporting the Sinkmaster, when all evidence was to the contrary. Give this girl a break.

"Am surprised Rita Crosby did not get the movies that were available in the hotel!" I'm surprised that NO media organization has thought to check on what movies were available. It should be easily obtained, because just a couple of companies provide hotels with these PPV movie services, and once you know the name of the company that provides the service to this hotel, you could easily see what was on the menu. The companies provide little advertising placards/brochures touting their PPV movies. Someone would know.

I'm sure Kobe wouldn't do it. I hear he's one of the few NBA stars that is loyal to his wife. I like your sarcasm.
Don't take my criticism of the media as support for Kobe Bryant. I don't know what happened. However, I do know that the media is engaging in a massive cover-up of information by hiding this woman's identity, including the fact that this would appear to be a black-on-white "hate crime", since the woman is white...

I wonder why this woman thought Kobe would go before the media and say, "Yes, absolutely, I did it." Even if he DID do it, he wouldn't be admitting it in public.

That is true- that happened to Anthony Mason- he was accused of something, but thanks to a settlement the "victims" shut their mouths and criminal charges were dropped.
