EAGLE, Colorado (CNN) --Hearing NBA all-star Kobe Bryant deny the sexual assault charge filed against him made his accuser "sick to her stomach," a friend of the woman said Monday.
Bryant, an all-star guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been charged with one count of sexual assault. He has steadfastly maintained his innocence, and after the charge was announced Friday, he admitted having sex with his 19-year-old accuser but said the encounter was consensual.

Oh, has that been proven in a court of law? Have they found the killer of OJ's wife yet?
I'm sure Kobe wouldn't do it. I hear he's one of the few NBA stars that is loyal to his wife.

She went voluntarily to her room cause she was a hotel employee and he called for room service apparently. The "room service" story was the first one, then evidently dropped. Rita Cosby just reported that the girl apparently did bring something hotel related to his room at apparently his request. It might not have been food, though. Cosby said "hotel related". That might be why the first story mixed up a hotel related errand with "room service".

""She's not doing this for the attention or the money," Yandle said. "She just wants to see a consequence and for him (Bryant) to be behind bars. She's here for the justice." Notice how the "friend" volunteers that she's not doing it for the money. WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT "MONEY???"
When money is not under discussion and someone brings up the subject and says she's not doing it for the money, she's doing it for the money.

It's it ironic. From what I hear, they have signs of assault. If this girl was his wife, they would have enough evidence for a Domestic Assault charge. But since he raped a total stranger, it's not enough evidence.
"Kobe, did you assault your wife?"
"No I raped her"
"OK, not enough evidence then"

Thanks. The kids don't even bother to argue my description anymore. ;)

Shoot, she could have gone up to get an autograph. That's still not grounds to assault her. Remember, Kobe was known as a loyal husband in the media.

The only thing that made me thing her story might have some truth to it was the fact that I questioned if a nineteen year old could recognize the
opportunity in front of her. Clearly, they can.
I was much more idealistic at 19 and would never have considered doing something for money, marrying for money, etc. Times have changed. Or maybe I was just stupid.LOL

A Denver radio station is reporting that they have been in contact with a person that has firsthand knowledge of a prior relationship between Kobe and his accuser.
Although acquaintance rape is still rape, if a previous relationship is proven, it could change things.
Looking for a link.

"Rita Cosby just reported that the girl apparently did bring something hotel related to his room at apparently his request." It has been repeatedly reported that she went off duty at 11 to 11:10. Kobe called his wife at 11:16 for "a few minutes." The girl went to Kobe's room after that - while she was off-duty. Doesn't sound too "hotel-related" to me.

Well, duh. What does she expect the police to say?I don't expect the police to set the bar by saying they have physical evidence of assault, like bruising, if they don't intend to produce it. If they don't, they've blown their case big time by misrepresenting what the evidence will show.

Are you posting here for the money? Nope. For fun, and these threads have been fun, so far.

We cannot dismiss out-of-hand the possibility that she is indeed doing this for attention or money. She might not be, but this is after all a famous individual with millions of dollars, and we have seen such things before. If there had been a wide gap between the time of the alleged assault and the reporting of the incident, I may tend to agree. But once the complaint is filed, the accuser can't have the charges dropped if Kobe secretly agreed to pay her off. This isn't a shakedown civil suit. Now, maybe she did make this up and didn't realize that there was no chance at money of she filed a criminal complaint, but who knows. Personally, I don't know if he did it, and hope he didn't. But if there is physical evidence of force, I think he is sunk. These stories and "dirt" on the accuser wont matter IMO, even if they are allowed(which most wont be).

Although acquaintance rape is still rape, if a previous relationship is proven, it could change things. Yep. Makes "scorned woman" come into play.
