The basic problem is that anyone, anywhere, blaming natural disasters on "punishment from God" is a stark raving moronic lunatic.
Andrew was NORMAL. The ODD thing is that there's only been one Andrew in the last 30 years, not that there was one at all.
The United States has been hit by VERY few hurricanes in the last few decades, far less than the long term average; if the US had two more Cat 4/5s hitting urban areas in the next five years, it wouldn't be unusual, it would simply be catching up to the long-term average.
And tornado reports have CONSTANTLY gone up as radar technology has improved and more people chase them.

I heard where this hurricane season is soon to be the busiest up to this point in the season in recorded history. Kind of makes you wonder...

Well I'm reminded of the Gospel, which tells us that God sends rain "on the just and the unjust." Although this is the inverse of what we're discussing, I think Mr. Koenig is, while not necessarily a "stark raving moronic lunatic", a little reductive in his theology.
