It is "Viet Nam" but "Vietnamese." I don't know why, but that is how I always have seen it.

I have seen Viet Nam written/typed as Vietnam for quite a few years and recently began using the "Vietnam" version to correct what I thought was my own error. I believe yours is the first "in print" separation I've seen in a long time. Do you suppose it's an "era" thing? Or perhaps a "Hoosier" thing? :o)
