Uhh, so W is a prisoner about to be capped without a trial by the Vietnamese? Is that it? I don't get it. Is this more of that highbrow, sophisticate humor I've heard so much about?
Were Bush some kind of political insurgent, and the prevailing politices of the opposition part stern and merciless, I might see some parallel. As it is, Bush is still a popular president with a huge ammount of public support, and the prevailing politics of Democrats are whimsical and petty.
Even if they 'get Bush' as the picture seems to imply, they rightly put themselves on the side that soon lost everything.

spot on. It's clearly meant to show the destructiveness of politics (read dems) on the Iraq situation. Tasteless, I agree, but hardly anti-Bush. People who don't accept our interpretation also don't understand Ramirez.

If you read Ramirez he is one of the most conservative cartoonist in any major paper. And I think you're just dead wrong on the meaning of the cartoon and for wrongfully jumping the newbie who tried to splain it to you. Best wishes and freep on.
