There is another shoe about to drop in this story....

I remember reading an article yesterday that said Kelly was in contact(email) with someone the morning he died......he complained of "dark actors" in this mess to his wife.

His wife said he was angry before he went for his walk .........what if he was in contact with Gilligan ........and Gilligan told him he was on his own.

They ruined this man........the ba$tards.

I think the guy made his own problems. He lied to parliament about being the source. He didn't have access to the intelligence he was telling the BBC. Why didn't he just come out publicly and say it was him even though it might have been against the law there.

Kelly had no business meeting with these reporters as he was doing. I really want to hear what he was saying. If he was trying to convince them that Blair was honorable and the reports fully supported Blair's rationale for war, that will be one thing. They will have lied about their source.

But I say again, he was meeting with these reporters secretly for a reason----to help or hurt Great Britain?

Kelly is not blameless here. He had an unauthorized meeting with the BBC. He wanted to discredit Blair on the war. The email he sent before his death went to someone at the NEW YORK TIMES..........

One thing to remember, this clown was an anti war/peace at any price/peacenik type who didn't mind breaking the law to bash his government's support of the United States.

I am assuming that there is more to this story than meets the eye. I did a quick internet search on Gilligan and found that he has been reporting from the Middle East for years--certainly time enough to have a LOT of contacts. He also has a reputation for going after the government and making lots of accusations. Could he be their Scott Ritter? I also do not buy this Dr. Kelly is such a gentle man who is so shy and unaccustomed to grilling. My husband, also a gentle and shy man just a fews years younger than Kelly, has been toughened by his many years as a college professor. If England is anything at all like the US, the collegiate atmosphere is as rough-and-tumble a political place as any I've known. Gentle and shy, yes, I can believe that. But naive and not used to politics? I doubt it.
