Lessee, "Gopher" from the "Love Boat" lost his run, and the woman who played Mr. Drysdale's secretary, Nancy Culp, lost her race. Heck, I lost my race for dog catcher. What does that tell you :)

But Nancy Kulp, a lesbian lost because Buddy Ebsen, the bigger star and Republican took out ads against her!

Gopher did win for quite a number of years though (see my post above).
