Yeah, he admitted to it, and his wife just released a statement saying as much.

What men are you dealing with that think they can harm women? The men I know are quite respectful of me, either from genuine respect or from considerations of what I could (but likely wouldn't) do to them were they not.

You'll pardon me on this one, as I do hope that everything is worked out in a fair and impartial trial, but this means that the media is going to go into full tabloid mode and we'll have to endure endless legal analyses of it on all of the major networks for months upon months to come. Better this case than constant lies about Iraq.

It's so sad that these men with everything want more... What? Like the ability to assault at will? I hope he fares well. Sweet.I figure he's going to prison... he'll need to "fare well" if he does... aint it sweet!

" He can always pursue a second career in rap music."
Is rap music printed on a rap sheet?
Yes with bars too! ;)
To: george wythe
hope he learned. bottom line: putting your dipstick into places it ought not to be (as a married and particularly as a blackmailable man) can be akin to putting a hand in an gator's mouth. never know what is going to happen and what might get bitten off. he has some ponderin' to do tonight I s'pose, false charge or not.

my guess is whatever occurred was 100% consensual. When he was "finished", Kobe tossed her out, which pissed her off to no end. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned..........
I'm still holding out for him and I don't even care about or follow basketball.. ... He grew up nice and middle class in a Philadelphia suburb. He did not grow up with the rap/thug/destructo culture.
Dan Patrick:Booing Kobe? I don't get it
... Bryant's father, Joe, played for the Sixers, and Kobe grew up in the
area. He went to Lower Merion High School in the Philly suburbs. ...

I know look for Mark Geragos to settle the Laci Peterson case out of court (if that's possible). Kobe's case is going to blow them off the tube!
To: Angelus Errare
Look on the bright side: perhaps it will bump Uraniumgate.

17 days to come up with charges. This sounds strange. Rape usually has apparent forensic signs on a woman. And it does not take that long to come up with the evidence.
I have a wait and see attitude on this....
To: cyncooper
you really need to read carefully before you just. my comments were on his stupidity in having everything and thinking he can take whatever more he wants.

Wow, that post was out of line.
Convicting all men of "harming women" on the basis of their sex, that's quite a statement.
Also, remember Mark CHmura? He was charged too, but acquitted not because of mere lack of evidence, but the medical examinations of the alleged victim and her and her friends terrible credibility and changing stories.
Kobe is guilty of adultery, we know this now. My respect for him has bottomed out, but I'm not ready to label him a rapist or abuser of women.

And once again FR was first with the information.
Kobe Bryant Flirted with Alleged Victim Posted by techcor to governsleastgovernsbest; Xenalyte On News/Activism 07/18/2003 9:40 AM PDT #54 of 57 The sex charge is one that involves penatration. I hate to tell you fans but he did more than flirt. When the sheriff first contacted him he admitted sexual intercourse took place. So the DNA is going to match and unless the victim drops the charge, it is going to go through and Kobie will probably be arrested at 3 o'clock today. His "I'm not the kind of guy to do that" won't work because most people were under the impression that he wasn't the kind of guy to screw around behind his wife's back. And he did that for certain. I feel sorry for his wife.
The winner for bringing the information to FR first: techor! At 9:45 a.m this morning.
