Well, I am not a miitary person, but isn't a shower in a wet climate like Viet Nam, a little easier to provide than one in a desert?

Water there was no easier to come by. Ours had to be flown out to us in a 500 gallon trailer every day. 500 gallons for 100+ soldiers in not much when you consider that was used for cooking, drinking and showers. We usually got about a gallon or two for showers. Wet down, soap up and rinse off.

Getting a shower in VN means taking off your clothes and waiting for the 3:30PM monsoon downpour.
