I agree with you 100%. The beauty is incredible, I still have a house along the Greenbrier River. But, as long as people like Sheets Byrd are re-elected, the state will be the butt of jokes. Pork brings in much needed jobs, but those jobs have strings attached to them (i.e., the unions) and that is what is killing the economy. Young people, if they can, leave in droves. Like another poster said, it's a time warp.

Have you also visited upstream to the headwaters? That's the stomping ground of my ancestors, Euro and Indian.
