No, it is not my work. I don't agree with everything in the piece, but I think the sections about the beauty and the people are right on the mark.

I don't live in West Virginia now, but I go home just about every weekend. Once one experiences the hills, the beauty, the people...it's hard to walk away.

So do I. I moved back here for a number of reasons but it's a lovely spot.

The near-reverence for Byrd here really torques my gut, though. People actually think he's a respected national figure rather than a contemptible bad joke.
