She would if she (like JL) saw her campaign going down the toilet and losing the Black Bloc would seal it's fate.
The ninny bringing up the rear is LIEberman.
John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Edmund Randolph were lawyers. 34 of the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention were lawyers.
In other words, your statement is a crock.
Contrary to what many people think, there is no requirement that a U.S. Supreme court justice have any legal training or even to have been a practicing lawyer. In addition, the U.S. Supreme Court has never been called upon to decide whether the practice of law is merely a privilege or a basic constitutional right.
It would be very healthy to start appointing non-lawyers. Rush Limbaugh, Jim Robinson, Ron Paul, Jerry Falwell, Cal Thomas, Tony Snow would be a considerable improvement on 6/9 justices.
I would be satisfied with a monkey trained to toss a coin. At least there would be a 50% chance of a correct ruling.
Fed-Soc.org - The Federalist Society Law schools and the legal profession are currently strongly dominated by a form of orthodox liberal ideology which advocates a centralized and uniform society. While some members of the academic community have dissented from these views, by and large they are taught simultaneously with (and indeed as if they were) the law.
LAWRENCE et al. v. TEXAS - Scalia Today's opinion is the product of a Court, which is the product of a law-profession culture, that has largely signed on to the so-called homosexual agenda,
Jim Robinson: Abortion, Sodomy, Courts, Feminists, RKBA, DNC -07/09/2003 But my most immediate goal is to have a complete turnover in the judiciary or to dump as many liberals from the court as we possibly can and also to keep the legislative agenda out of Democrat hands.
We have a winner. For bonus credit, what specificallyu does the Constitution say about the qualifications to be the Soliciter General of the United States?
In other words, your statement is a crock.
Did any of them belong to an ABA type organization or a mandatory bar association? For that matter, did any of them graduate from a law school? don't you know of any lawyers who have a low opinion of the way the legal system works in reality? I know a bunch of them.
I would also suggest that the 34 lawyers that were delegates to the Constitutional Convention did no go because they were thrilled with the current legal system at the time.
I don't have time this morning, but I will post a link to a U.S. Supreme Court decision that pretty much states exactly what I paraphrased about the opinions the colonists had towards the courts around the time of the American revolution. I'll do this sometime tonight or tomorrow. You will be quite surprised when you read the case.
I am not saying that all lawyers and judges are corrupt and dishonest, just that many of them are. In the state of Washington, it is far worse than many other states for a variety of reasons.
And do you think law school makes someone suspect, as opposed to being a lawyer? If so, what is the basis for the statement.
And several million others. Let's see, Lieberman, Kerry, Dean, Kucinich, Graham ... all have made statements so outlandish, so repulsive to vast swaths of the American electorate, that they've pretty much lost any hope of winning in November 2004. It's looking better for Bush every day.
It's called a$$-kissing, and Joe does it so well, doesn't he?
