So I guess it's OK to compare Republicans to confederates of Nazis, just not both at the same time.

I concur with you. It's such a weak and watery condemnation, I'm wondering why they bothered. Democrats all.

Actually it almost reads like they're condemning Bond for coming down too hard on Nazis and Confederates, by comparing them to Republicans.
