However, if we cut all the welfare off and it was a choice of eating or picking the vegies.... maybe these Americans would work. I recall reading in a Wall Street Journal article last year about the Germany overnment telling their long-term unemployed to either work on a farm or lose benefits. Amazingly enough, many people finally did find work rather than face the prospect of working in an asparagus field.

This whole immigration thing drives me nuts. The US is on a downward spiral and our best days are behind us. Sad !!! Yes, but at least we were a "tolerant", "inclusive" and "diverse" nation!
this is a good way to turn the U.S.A. in to a third world country,

"Yes, but at least we were a "tolerant", "inclusive" and "diverse" nation!" Emphasis on "we were" . . . politically correct.

I know of several people who have applied for jobs. Yet the jobs were given to immigrants.

The weird thing is ----many immigrants aren't coming in to work at all ---many come in and get SSI, Medicaid and all the rest. In this area the over-65 years of age group is one of the largest group of immigrants along with those below working age. You can find more immigrants sitting in welfare offices here than you can find working hard in the 100+ degree sun. Many of the unwed mothers coming in from Mexico never did intend to work ---it's a double whammy on Americans ---we get some coming in who will take good jobs ---but also many lazy coming in to have us support them.

I've been to doznes of Subways including the one at Hershey. That one is the *ONLY* one I've ever seen more than 4 people at (to back up the previous guy's claim). And yes, there are indeed well over 10 ppl. I noticed right away how odd that was. They must do lots of business there.
