I'm not arguing your point but from what I have noticed is that some of the usual suspects who show up on every libertarian thread to mock and jeer are social conservatives that do not believe in freedom or self government. They want a theocracy to enforce their views on everyone else. While I might agree with social conservatives in general I recognize that not everyone else does and that today we live in a much less pious society than once existed. The difference is that under liberty government has few functions - these people want government to enforce their personal world view (for the general welfare of course). Plainly put they hate the idea of people being free to make decisions for themselves therefore these jesters have proven they are not really conservatives at all.
