CA: The lawsuit to stop the recall will probably fail

Make no mistake about it: The lawsuit filed by Gov. Gray Davis' allies against the attempt to recall the governor is meant to slow the process and ensure that the inevitable election is held later rather than sooner.

The recall campaign has collected more than 1.7 million signatures, nearly twice the required minimum of 897,000. And the county officials who have begun to verify them are finding an unusually high rate of accuracy. The Californians who signed the petitions are who they say they are, in other words, and they are registered to vote. There will be an election.

Interesting that Davis would be concerned about anyone from out of state influencing elections or anything in CA when he supports illegals from out of the country in every way possible.

I still want to know what kind of deal he and Vicente Fox made before the election: just consular cards and drivers licenses or is there more to come?

Davis and other politicians routinely import political consultants from New York or Washington, D.C., and pay them tens of thousands of dollars to persuade the voters to elect them. Think about that the next time one of the governor's people suggests that getting help from out of state is somehow wrong.

If the truth is ever known, I expect even Slick Willie's gang could go to school on the every day corruption practises of Gray's group (who feed on the feeders that feed on the bottom feeders). The recall process will never make it through the California Supreme Court. They'll rewrite the law on the fly just as the crooked Florida Supreme Court tried to rig the presidential election to favor PanderAl Gore by ignore what the legislature had written and making it up as they went.

But Davis gone just gets the dems off the hook. The problems will still be there so long as the criminals are still in charge. A brave minority of Republican legislators can't pass legislation, no matter who is governor.

And, when it comes to shifty, dirty tricks, the dems wrote the book. They already know where illegal aliens signed the petitons in droves because the dems paid them to do so. The dems will go through those petitions and get it down to 300,000 legal signatures in no time.

I'm looking ahead to the 2004 general election, myself.

The demRats either make major cuts this year ... or next.. which is an election year , btw. Ouch!

The heat will be 10 times this intense on the demRats, especially if the economy hasn't come back.

Recovery is made tougher as businesses continue to leave California or shut down or cut back because of excessive costs for state mandated programs, workmen's comp, etc.

Yup. 2004 , irregardless of the Recall outcome, is where the big nuggets lie.

Now, during morning and evening drive times here in LA, Davis's flacks are guests on talk radio shows, rhapsodizing about the sanctity of the petitition-circulators-must-be-registered-in-CA requirement. Ah yes ... for such is the big issue, not the corruption and ineptitude of the Democrat-across-the-board state government.

While that is all true, there is a major distinction; Al Gore/Gray Davis. Jolks aside obviously no one likes Al Gore here, but think it through-there is no comparison. Alot of people liked AlGore, he won the popular vote. Gray Davis has a 21% approval rating...and falling. Because of his performance, he deserves a worse rating. Granted that the courts here, like the 9th District are the most corrupt in the nation, but their stepping into this brings a whole lot of negative attention. Vaguely attacking Christianity is one thing for them, but bailing out Davis with laws that this article brilliant points out as most likely UnConstitution will make their names household names.

Plus, I think if they do step in and interfer I think this hurts Davis with the public more than helps him.
