There are some people who just don't want to believe in a connection and will do whatever they can to discredit those that do believe in the AQ/Iraq connection.

You can search Bin Laden's writings (putative and real) and the reports written about him and I defy anyone to find one damning word he ever uttered against Saddam Hussein. He actually supported Hussein's occupation of Kuwait. At the first meeting of the radical Popular Arab and Islamic Conference held in Khartoum in April 1991 representatives of Iran, Iraq and Bin Laden all broke bread together. In the years that followed intelligence operatives of all three nations worked together in Yemen and Somalia.

Bin Laden might have dispised the Baath Party but he would work with anyone who would help destroy the West.
