Bumping back to Koch backing Bush:

The Democratic candidates for President -- and many in the media -- are trying to make President Bush seem like a liar. In so doing, they are making an unforgivable mistake.

It is unforgiveable because in trying to win an election, they are risking the war on terror.

A war that we must win.

Dubya hasn't said a word...

Bush Says Gay-Marriage Amendment May Be Unneeded President Says Marriage Only Means Man, Woman

POSTED: 12:24 p.m. EDT July 3, 2003

WASHINGTON -- President George W. Bush says a constitutional ban on gay marriage that's been proposed in the House may not be needed.

Bush told reporters Wednesday that lawyers are studying the ramifications of last week's Supreme Court ruling striking down state sodomy laws.

The president emphasized that he does support the "notion that marriage is between a man and a woman."

Supporters of a Federal Marriage Amendment to the Constitution say it's the only way to stop courts from requiring legalization of gay marriage.

But White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said it's unclear if the Supreme Court's sodomy ruling could be used to challenge the Defense of Marriage Act.

"Dubya is no coward on this issue."

This is the only issue I would ever put the words "coward" and "Dubya" in the same sentence.

Ask some of the Log Cabin FReepers what Dubya says about homosexuality and get back with me.

Steering thread back on topic after that unsubstantiated, off-topic garbage:

National Security Advisor, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, on Face the Nation over the weekend cleaned the clocks of her two media interrogators and critics, CBS' Bob Schieffer and Los Angeles Times Washington Bureau Chief, Doyle McManus with her brilliant responses to their questions.

WEAK, WEAK, WEAK and WEAK.

Dubya has lost literally tens of thousands of supporters in the past 30 days over this WEAK, WEAK, WEAK posture.

He won't COMMIT - he is blowing it BIG TIME.

Facts is facts.

Ed Koch is a decent enough man- I can remeber when there were a fair number of Democrats like him- Pat Moynihan, Paul Tsongas, Sam Nunn.

Koch bails out from supporting a democrat for president because he thinks W is the man for the job and at the same time you bail out from supporting W because your opinion that his exercising due diligence through studying DOMA is weak.

HA!

"HA!"

Bush is riding the fence.

I've been voting now for over 30 years.

I may start calling him the "Fence Rider From Texas."

Ed Koch is right. President Bush didn't lie in his SOTU address about WMD. Koch has risen above the gutter politics of the partisan liberal establishment.

Kudo's to Ed Koch!

And go Bush go!

I have no real problem with Mr. Bush disseminating misinformation in order to get public backing for Iraq Part II. That is what politicians do, and we should expect it.
My main bitch with him is that with all the real, solid, easily provable and proven reasons to invade Iraq, he had to fall back on the “We’re All Gonna DIE!!!” argument instead of the viable reasons.
Saddam needed to be kicked out of power. Maybe Mr. Bush was right to use scare tactics – if he believes that is the only way to get support.
An American POW being held by Iraq is no reason to unleash the Dogs of War.
Saddam’s continual violations of the terms of the Iraq I cease fire – note, “cease fire”, not “Peace Treaty”. His forces continually fired on allied aircraft enforcing the No Fly Zone – that Iraq agreed to abide with. He refused to give full cooperation to the UN weapons inspectors as he agreed to do. I believe there were over a dozen UN resolutions he violated.

These reasons were deemed insufficient for Mr. Bush, and he barely mentioned them. He had to try to instill fear in the American People.

If Clinton wasn't impeached for lying to a grand jury...

Clinton was impeached. But he wasn't removed...

Schumer has been rather quiet lately, hasn't he? Wonder when he's going to vomit his version of the Dims Talking Points?

Go ahead and call him whatever you like. Vote for a Democrat or don't vote at all and cause a Democrat to win. Then you can look forward to even more sodomific decisions from the new SCOTUS Supremes Extremes.

"Vote for a Democrat or don't vote at all and cause a Democrat to win."

As I said, I've not waivered from the Republican ticket for over 30 years.

What we need is another one of these . . .

“Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem.”

Dubya needs a clue.

I don't think so, not by half. But I am interested in how you think it is.
