Scripture indicates that there are angels and that one of there roles is to protect (guard) humans. However, we are given no indication that those in Heaven are usurping this angelic role. As a matter of fact, for those that are now in Heaven, the only activity we can be scripturally certain of is that they continually worship God.

About 30 years ago, I should have been killed in a freak auto accident. A strange sequence of events altered the outcome, and I survived with only a few bruises. On this one occasion, I didn't fasten my seat belt, something I had always done before that day, and after. If it had been on, I would have had a heavy wood post smash me in the face. I am convinced that some unseen force or entity somehow made me not buckle the belt on that one occasion, and saved me from almost certain death. A guardian angel? I have no doubt.
