Perhaps you've hit on the very reason for this anomaly. Whether it is an angel (which I am inclined to doubt) or not, the effect was to comfort the family in this most horrible time.

Yes, thanks. I don't know what's on the photos and don't care. I do believe in angels, but I have never seen one or experienced one that I know of.

I do care a lot for families that have child who dies. I think that's the worst grief in the world, to outlive your child...my dear mother in law lost a son who was thirteen when he suddenly died of previously unknown heart disease...she saw him, smiling at her, reassuring her, as real as when he was alive, in a cloud one day about a year after his death; from that day on she was consoled, though she never got over losing her son so young.
