Get Out of the U.N. Vote TODAY! July 15, 2003

Our opportunity is at hand! We wanted a vote on Congressman Ron Paul's H.R. 1146 (withdrawing the United States from the United Nations) and we got it.

The House will vote late this afternoon or early evening on H.R. 1146 as an amendment to H.R. 1950 _ Foreign Relations Authorization Act. The amendment reads: "Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, none of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act, may be obligated or expended to pay any United States contribution to the United Nations or any affiliated agency of the United Nations."

In plain language, that gets the U.S. out of the U.N. _ no money, no membership.

This is not a dress rehearsal _ this is your life. Put down your pencils, stop reading The New American and start contacting people...start with your U.S. representative and then spread the word. Its time to stop talking about how bad the United Nations really is and do something about it: get the U.S. out of the U.N.!

on a further footnote, yes they all ACTIVELY participate in the political process.( Kinda reminds me of FR during a love/hate slug fest. This place keeps me in shape for family reunions.;))

Probably a snowballs chance in .......? But Now we get to see who votes, how they vote,and more importantly remind them during next years primaries WHY WE WONT VOTE FOR THEM. Its a two way street. You don't support U.S. I don't support you.

I highly doubt that I am the only person on this board that feels this is an appaling idea. That, the biggest "problem" with the world today is not the UN, but the current administration.

I guess the object lesson is that it's important to document how we get our asses handed to us.

Actually the Congress just screwed the pooch. If the numbers had been even closely half and half,even if we had lost. The UN would have shuddered. Why? The "sugar daddy" is about to tell them "I want a divorce!" Don't think They would'nt be scurrying about to do anything they could to "please" the US. But they royally blew it. Royally.
