I thought it was a strange movie as well! IMHO...it fits Johnny Depp to a T! Did you see him on the David Letterman show? STRANGE is a word that really goes with this guy. He looked like a homeless person who hadn't had a shower in months....his hair looked dirty and I don't think he even attempted to brush it before appearing on the show.

A good many of his roles are strange. "Sleepy Hollow", The one about Jack the Ripper, "Edward Sissor Hands", "Crybaby"...

No I didn't see Depp on Letterman. Actors are ALL strange. My daughter pursued acting for a while but I am happy to say she decided to work behind the curtain, instead of in front of it. lol

You should have also seen him on Leno. I had the same thought you did when he appeared on Leno. I thought it was some kind of gag he was trying to play with Jay. But apparently he had the same type of appearance on Letterman. He also did not talk much. Jay really had to work hard to make him say anything. Really strange. However, I must confess that I really enjoyed the Pirates of the Caribbean. I really do recommend it.
