But, we both know that since he campaigned for prescription drugs, the bill was going to pass and he was going to sign it.

Of course, he also promised reforms and privitization ... and then caved.

Now, this is my opinion on what Bush did... it is not an opinion on whether I think he should have veto'd it or not. I still haven't addressed the subject... so, don't go off, half-cocked, skewing my posts to fit your agenda.

The point is, you say he does not bear any responsibility. And that's bullcrap. But my saying so is somehow putting words in your mouth. Telling.

Just a question about the Medicare reforms. The reforms were in the House bill but dropped in the Senate so that they could get passage (the Senate has ways to block bills that the House does not). As far as I had heard, the bill was still in conference, where there will have to be some sort of reconciliation between the two bills. Do you have further information?

No, what I said is that you gave him 100% of the blame, and I think that that blame should go to Congress...

Again... I believe that legislation, in any shape or form, is the responsibility of Congress... that's why I lay the blame at their door. This is the point in which we disagree.

If you need me to state my position yet again, just let me know. If I say it enough, perhaps (not holding out too much hope) perhaps it will sink in.
