(don't get me wrong, I love animals, BUT.....)
It's a sad comment that a (non fatal) attack to man's best friend drums up no less outrage than to a man. Animals used to be viewed as property, not as little gods. An animal cruelty like this would get the person sent to the looney bin to be treated, not to the schools of crime we sometimes call jail or prison.
