Considering Bush's numbers among Republicans and conservatives are stratospheric, and considering GOP performance among Jews has improved recently specifically because of this Administration's support of Israel, I'm not sure where Gary is coming from.

I'm not sure where Gary is coming from. Bauer said he is "concerned" there is "evidence of a drift right now away from the clear standards that the president has previously outlined. We want to do everything we can to get the Bush Doctrine back into the driver's seat, and to remind everybody in Washington that the Bush Doctrine is universal, and that these principles apply not only to the right of the US to contest terrorism, but to Israel as well."
What part of that did you not understand ?

I suppose what he had in mind is the $20m down payment to terrorists, the pressure for the release of terrorists, and the sporadic "concern" that Israel might be killing terrorists. Since illegal immigrants and, by implication, terrorists can penetrate our security fence daily I suppose you have an argument for no drift there.

Since illegal immigrants and, by implication, terrorists can penetrate our security fence dailyWhy is it the "enthusiastic" posters always come back to the same old argument? :-) I'm sorry. I thought we were talking about Bush's support for Israel.

Bush will not yield to Israel. He will not yield to a diminutive nobody like Gary Bauer. He will do what is in his best judgment and if Bauer doesn't like it, he can go pound sand.

To: jagrmeister
What Gary Bauer is saying doesn't dispute what you say. He just says the President may pay for it by losing the 2004 election.

I understand where Gary Bauer is coming from, but I have a hard time seeing Christian Conservatives voting for Howard Dean or John Kerry.

They are not going to vote for terrorists either.
To: anotherview
Do you like giving millions of dollars to terrorists with American blood on their hands ?
To: Coop
I'm not sure where Gary is coming from. Let's make a list of how many people care what Gary Bauer thinks.
Anyone?

You obviously haven't read my posts for very long. I am Israeli. No, I don't want to see Palestinians receive one penny for terrorism. What in the world makes you think I would?

Hardly interesting.
Gary Bauer is a little twerp still smarting from campaign 2000.
I gave-up counting the number of times he stated that "he" was the most "Reagan-like" of all the presidential candidates. I wish I could have reached thru the TV to smack his face every time he uttered that nonsense. Yeah, he sure reminded me of RWR --- almost identical! Pa-leeeeze.
Whew. I feel much better now!
