Sometimes being at the bottom of someone's list is a good thing, eh, Mississippi?

Mississippi has few doctors who perform abortions. It has no Planned Parenthood, and it has only a handful of vocal abortion-rights advocates. It's hard to find a state lawmaker who believes in a woman's right to choose — ............ Mississippi does, however, have an active Right to Life organization, one that has worked to restrict the legal procedure in the state. Anti-abortion advocates have worked to ban public funding for abortions and to use "Choose Life" license plates to help disperse funds to centers that advise women against abortion. They are now fixed on a move — however unrealistic — that could force doctors to pay for post-abortion complications of Medicaid recipients.

Wow - sounds like Mississippi has several redeeming qualities! Go Mississippi!

BTW, I know the C-L's original headline for this article was really lame, but the protocol on FR presently is not to alter headlines. This helps save bandwidith by preventing double-posting. The only reason I mention this is b/c I almost posted this article myself. Luckily, I checked the MS forum before posting it b/c it may not have come up on my search. I just thought you might want to know.

"The trend there is obviously a worrisome trend because it means that the anti-choice forces have done a good job at infiltrating state government," Gallagher said.

For these NARAL wackos, winning an election = "infiltrating state government." It is simply amazing how anti-democratic the abortion rights groups have become.

Amazing.

Not only should women be able to abort at any time for any reason, but there has to be a clinic on every block and a crowd to shout for their rights, for a woman to properly "enjoy" Roe.
