I'll say this for USATODAY, they had the best newspaper coverage of the Iraqi war.
And Benedetto is their polling expert. I've never seen him write anything so blunt. I'm impressed.

Keep in mind that USA Today acts as a campaign advisor to teh dems. On the surface it looks like a slam, but all it is is advice on how to win.During Democratic primaries and their runups, it's typical for the candidates to run even to the left of their enabling lefty media.
USA today in particular has to straddle the fence somewhat because they are trying to appeal to a broader readership than say the NYT, who has definitely decided to carve out the looney left niche for itself.

Perhaps USA Today is a Dem cheerleeder, but Richard Benedetto offers some thoughtful columns and is not a knee-jerk liberal.
