Green Card Scam
Focus on Freedom ^

Posted on 07/13/2003 6:47:09 PM PDT by steplock

Warning!

One of my customers sent me this asking if it was legit!

I have traced it to a scummy operation out of southern Florida advertised from Houston.

It HAS been turned over to the FBI as a possible CREDIT CARD THEFT RING or IMMIGRATION FRAUD.

They have a good firewall I can't break through ( Darn it! )

Subject: Do You Need A United States Green Card?

Click here or see below to unsubscribe.

The Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery was established in the 1996 Immigration Act in order to
give immigration opportunities to persons from countries other than through the main source
of immigration to the U.S.A. This official U.S. government program aims to diversify the
American population by creating an immigration opportunity to under-represented ethnic groups.
The U.S. government makes available 50,000 permanent residence visas each year through a
computer-generated lottery drawing. A permanent residence visa is commonly referred to as a
Green Card. This visa class entitles the holder to live and work in the United States of America.

There has been a huge increase in SPAM with "Conservative sounding" subjects and return addresses such as RCN.com

Probably operated by the same DU'ers who could figure out the ballots in Miami!

This is a legal program, and someone who advertises to help people apply for it isn't doing anything illegal.

Can you tell me what I'm missing here?

Legality was highly questionable. This is one of the favored methods used by Credit Card thieves. I passed this on to my entire mail list as a possible fraud/theft ring.

This outfit requires ALL the necessary information to commit fraud except for a SS# (since they prey on ILLEGALS there wouldn't be one?)

Especially when they had their server firewalled against a trace/ping!

On their site a DISCLAIMER: (at the very least, an unethical boiler room money scam)

This service helps applicants complete the application process for the DV Lottery Program in an easy and accurate fashion. We are not affiliated with the US Government and do not guarantee that applicants will win a Green Card or that they will have increased chances of winning the green card lottery. Again, we are merely performing the administrative task of submitting an application for processing by the United States goverment. This is in no way legal advice nor do we act as your agent in any way whatsoever. You provide the information and we submit the form. Our fee is for preparing and submitting a completed application on your behalf. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any claim for refund of our fee.

It's a ripoff, for sure. Immigrants can apply for this without paying a middleman. But the same can be said about many other advertisments in this country.

I'm not defending it, just giving a legal opinion...

I'm not sure I understand your objection... there is nothing illegal or apparently unethical about what you have shown here. If these guys make a business helping people fill out applications for the lottery, what's the big deal?

Somehow I was not aware of this feculent lottery.

If we subtract the number of illegals and H1 visas can we send some of them back now?

I will add this "lottery" to the list of things I demand our Fed. Gov. Org. cease doing, we get too much "diversity" from the illagal invaders as it is.

Don't knock these guys. This is actually a valuable service for white males who were born in this country. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, "Why would a native-born citizen need a Green Card?"

To get a job. Having a Green Card makes you part of The Diversity. If you are an unemployed white male, you are not gonna see a job for a thousand years. You have to become Diverse. And what better way to add Diversity to your resume than with an honest-to-goodness Green Card, signed by Uncle Sam?

Never mind University, get Diversity! Available now, only from your INS!
