Have you followed the shooting of Kendra James by the Portland police in early May? Lots of inconsistencies in the various reports. One said she was shot from at least 24 inches away while at the same time the cop who fired the fatal bullet said he had half his body inside the vehicle. Lots of other inconsistencies. The Multnomah County DA lied at a public forum when he said Garner v. Tennessee, 471 US 1 (1985) was not a case on point. I told him he was a liar and that the only reason he didn't get a grand jury indictment of the cop was because he didn't want to get one. I got a standing ovation from about 500 attendees for that comment.

I try to avoid any association with the Portland PD. I've had to go down there twice on business and both times I pretty much observed that department acting as traffic control for one or another of the different anarchist groups that seem to florish there. Going to Portland is like visiting a Canadian City; everything looks kind of familiar but strangely foreign as well.
