That's when police tried to serve Woodring a warrant at his Dayton Township home on charges of accosting children for immoral purposes.

This story is horribly written. Lemme see if I get this right:

1) The cops try to serve a warrant to Woodring on Sunday.
2) Woodring has other ideas and shoots one of the cops dead on Monday.
3) The cops burn his house down on Tuesday.

At this point we have no idea what happened to Woodring. I'm assuming he escaped the burning house because he was caught and shot this morning, but I'm wondering how he escaped a burning house surrounded by cops and then eluded them for several days. I'm also wondering why it took the cops three days to bring him out of the house.

All because no arrest warrant was carried out, all because Scott Woodring REFUSED to take advantage of his due process rights.

I was hoping that since he survived the house burning, that we might hear his side of the story. Despite all the accusations going around, he have only heard one side. Now, we will never know what he experienced from his side.

Kind of funny, isn't it, how so many accused "cop killers" never make it to trial?

It certainly is possible that the shooting was legitimate. I would hope so. But, I would rather have like to hear his side of the story.

Do you know if the warrant was ever actually presented to Woodring? The courts no longer require that the warrant actually be present, even though this flies in the face of one of the primary purposes of a warrant, to let the accused know that the people arresting him are acting correctly, with official sanction.
