I've had a bunch myself who've gone on to become good taxpaying citizens - conservative, too. All were looking for freedom and opportunity here, just like my ancestors, and, unlike my ancestors, they had advanced degrees in math and science.

I have no objections to Indian professionals coming over AS PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS seeking to resettle here in the US with their families. H1B is indentured servitude (which is why US companies like them so much). The H1B's have to work whatever hours their managers set for them, put up with whatever demands are made, or they get sent back to India. They can't easily switch companies. They do not pose a threat to their managers of taking over the manager's job. Of course managers here love them

Like you I do not have a problem with legal immigrants to the USA I have a problem with H1B guest workers who are here via fraud usually and who are basically indentured servants. I also have a big problemn with the L1 visa holders who are not working here in accord with their Visas. I have a problem with India claiming it has hardly any H1B visa holders working in teh US but screaming like a stuck pig that the program would be ended. I have a problem with tax dollars being used to subsidize offshore outsourcing.

I not I have a neighbor who is in IT who is of Indian ancerstry. His parents came here when he was young. His wife is from India and he shares my concerns on all this. It is not about prejudice it is about the economic destruction of the USA and about establishing a new class of lords here.

Our H1Bs who went on to citizenship were Russian and Chinese, all highly skilled and educated. At no time during their H1B status were they ever made to work in "indentured servitude" as you suggest. They were treated and paid like everyone else.
