California's Gray Davis has little competition for the title of worst governor in the nation. But when it comes to worst Republican governor, Nevada's Kenny Guinn is running for the roses. Mr. Guinn has already signed a budget raising state spending by more than 25%, and now he's suing to force the state legislature to raise the taxes to pay for it.

Yup. Even Gray Davis hasn't yet legally raped California like the RINO Guinn did with the Silver State.

At 12:01 a.m. yesterday, Nevada's Attorney General asked the Democrat-dominated state Supreme Court to intervene in the battle over tax hikes, arguing that the legislature has failed to comply with provisions of the state constitution mandating that it start the fiscal year with a balanced budget. "The issues presented in this petition to the court are unique and unprecedented in the history of Nevada ," says the suit. Granted, the courts are often called upon to rule on laws which are seemingly contradictory, but there is no contradiction in the law to balance the budget and the require a 2/3 majority to pass tax hikes. The Legislature CAN balance the budget without raising taxes. It has the choice of cutting spending.
This is a dangerous precedent. It's quite sad that it was a Republican who first took this action. Now if a Democrat Governor follows suit and gets criticized for it, the defense can be "I'm just following the lead of the REPUBLICAN governor of Nevada. If it's okay for a Republican to do it, then don't criticize me."

Well, we have a new RINO governor down here in Georgia that might give him a run for his money. A whole lot of big talk about the flag, no new taxes, and a new day in Georgia. Well, he double crossed the folks that care about the state flag, proposed, and got passed a bunch of new taxes, and proposed that illigal aliens be able to get drivers licenses.
It was revealed last week that corporate one worlders at Coca Cola, Home Depot, Georgia Power, and all the other elitest swine in downtown Atlanta have given him over $1 million in campaign donations since the election. Sonny Perdue, just another pol into money and power, and to hell with the citizens. They are just suckers anyway.

These Republican Governors think that if they step on the conservative base, they can gain more swing voters. In the long run, this method is doomed for failure. The GOP shall become a party which stands for nothing.
Roy Barnes is a perfect example. He ran in 1998 as a conservative Democrat. He won the Governorship by carrying Middle GA. He then amassed a huge re-election warchest. He thought he was so invincible that he strong-armed the GA legislature to change the GA flag. The media praised him as the greatest man in the world. The DNC and the liberal media promoted Barnes as a possible presidential candidate in 2004. However, by trying to gain favor with the liberal media, he betrayed his supporters in Middle GA. Barnes figured he don't need the support of rural GA when the Atlanta Constitutional-Journal was on his side. How wrong he was in 2002. The same rural folks who voted for him in 1998, booted him out in 2002. What happened to Roy Barnes can easily happen to the GOP. In fact, I expect it to be happening in 2006. Several GOP Governors may find themselves booted out of office by the conservative base.

My biggest fear is the courts here in Calif dictating huge tax increases over our debacle in Sac.

When the courts start dictating tax increases, then the populace starts taking notice of the courts. It will be a whole new ballgame. Up to now, the courts have been a minor issue. In Cali and NV, they'll be a big deal if the tax rate jumps as a result of their meddling in what should be a purely political process.
