Interesting but typical, that the Chronicle would spin a soap opera article to celebrate the self-centered destruction of these people.

1. Please lay off the Texas ‘dissing’. There are nuts in every state and Houston IS the 4th largest city in the Country.

2. At the risk of offending all right-to-lifers (I am one also), was the pre-born baby whose life was ended before birth maybe better off than if it had been born into this schizo triangle? What kind of life would that little one have had? I’m hopeful enough to hope that maybe God took that little soul back so it will have another chance at a later time.

there are 4 souls that will never grace this earth again. a child, a father, a soon to be mother, and a scorned lover. they need to be able to rest in peace. their leaving was a violent and painful one. whatever their roles on this planet were, we need to give love to their families and loved ones. please let them rest in peace and not in suspision of whatever "we" think happened. much love to danny, justine, robert, and the baby.

I see you are in New Jersey, where people like this don't exist & things like this don't happen. How nice for you.

DO NOT for a minute think the Pravda on Buffalo Bayou represents anyone but the leftist, elitist fringe in Houston, much less the rest of Texas. It is more liberal than the Austin American-Statesman in most of its views. They were even caught recently with an inter-office memo stating they would slant news stories, not just editorials, to fit the values of the paper. The Chronical is good for wrapping deaf fish guts, not much else.

Feeling trapped in the suffocating confines of Cypress Creek High School . . .

Gotta love those suffocating confines! Nothing worse than studying, dressing decent, eating three squares, and living by your parents' rules. Poor poor dear. Her parents should have bought the girl her own apartment and continued to pay her way - while allowing her the freedom to do whatever her young little stupid and ignorant heart allowed.

They also said that the couple "seemed happy." Living a lifestyle like that? I guess to them that anything goes. Then after this guy kills their daughter they can just say: "I guess what I see from all this is untreated depression -- lost hope -- desperation when he found out she was pregnant," said Maxwell's mother." Depression...untreated...someone else's fault. How about evil, in which their daughter played a significant part, and the parents' too by their "tolerant" attitude. How very sad.

"please let them rest in peace and not in suspision of whatever "we" think happened."

So....does a newspaper article detailing a life and death let someone rest in peace?

This forum is for discussion of events---"we" have the right to call this situation what it was: Avoidable. (Not to mention sickeningly embracing of the oh-so countercultural. Like getting a tattoo makes you special somehow.)

"I see you are in New Jersey, where people like this don't exist & things like this don't happen. How nice for you."

Don't be silly, like I was being. Of course I know things like this happen all over, and I'm sorry for all the people involved, but I AM surprised to see this happen in Texas. Mostly I am surprised at the tone of the article, which seems to feel these 3 people were living some happy-go-lucky, carefree, life-style, when it's pretty obvious they were sunk in some mire of total dysfunctionality. It sounds like a situation even the Village Voice might cover in a more sceptical tone.

The attitude of the parents seems ridiculous to me, too. Maybe they are high on happy pills or something themselves, but if I saw my daughter take up with body piercers, tatoo artists, and guys nick-named Stonie, drop out of High School, become shiftless, etc., I'd be pretty worried and I would take action to change her situation. I might not succeed, I admit that, but I think I might have seen a big problem here, even without it ending in a love triangle multiple murder/suicide. These people seem to think everything was fine until the guy went nuts and killed everybody.

Now, let me just add that there are many fine people who have body piercings and are tatoo artists, but this is still not the company I'd prefer my teenage daughter kept. I wouldn't want her hanging out with bikers either. Or be involved with the "Club" Scene. Some lifestyles are NOT appropriate for teenage girls.

You were surprized this happened in Texas? Where have you been lately? It seems like some shockingly horrible thing happens in Texas every week lately. People being dragged to death, murder of children for ransom, bums impailed in a windshield, children being drowned by their mother As far as the way it is written, it is in the Houston "Comical", a NYT wanna be.

I see lots of them everyday, they are disconnected from life, but think they are really cool.Is it the drugs, or rebelion, or hate of authority. Portland Oregon, is really a gathering place for these lost souls... I try to remember they are one of Gods Children, but some times it is hard to have the feel of Brotherly Love...

I don't care how well you knew Danny or thought you did.
I'll always wish for the feelings that I felt at his funeral.
Unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to know him as well.
I just wanted to know him.
All the bad shit I heard, didn't phase me.
I swore he'd give me the first tattoo I ever got if I ever got one.
Now you can all go to hell.
I never knew her, but I don't talk shit.
My family's not too fond of either, but we still loved.
I should blame her.... but I don't. I didn't know her.
Pass me the same respect.
Or I'll find you and teach you respect for the dead.
One way or another.
Nobody says these things about the last Armantrout but for my brothers.
And they would back me.
Like you would back your family..
So if I'm not mad, then don't act like you are.
Danny never wanted anything more than ourselves.
Life. Regardless.

Maybe, just maybe.
I wanted to see Danny more than once since I met him while he was still playing with Hot Wheels.
He was my only blood cousin.
All this sensationalism seems to drive me away, but I'll be damned before I'll let you trash him.
Both my brothers remember and respect him.
For those of you without much family, you'd respect we didn't know beyond our grandparents.
What family is left is family.
Everyday I blame myself for not forcing myself upon him to grant myself the pleasure of REAL family.
Finding out why?
Why would he do such a thing do Danny?
But I only hated while he ran.
When I found out what happened.
Who can really judge a man in that situation.
Only God I guess, but I still think she could've done more to prevent all this.
Whatever y'all say though.
It's all just too sad.
I feel I've lost faith.
Everybody in my small family divorced except my brother.
So what y'all say......it's your opinion I'm sure.

I've also seen kids go bad from the best of families

I've also seen wonderful people come from very poor families and circumstances.
