My problem with this approach is that they are putting too much faith in American public. If Bush takes a hard-hit on the issue of credibility between now and next Auguest, I'm not sure releasing WMD info would overturn the trend.
This just doesn't sound right to me, too risky, too close to the election day.

I agree, if they are holding evidence, I wouldn't wait that long. Before the primaries would be fun to watch as the RATS further pee all over themselves.

I say release some good stuff now when we get it and confirm it (but it has to be big enough stuff that it will make an impact). Then, release the biggest stuff mid-summer next year.

I agree with your #13 - by August '04 Bush's credibility will be shot and anything the administration presents in terms of WMD will be deemed dummied up by the administration.
Playing for time is one thing - for a few months - while the administration double checks its facts - beyond that is unacceptable and plain stupid.

It wont be next August, it may actually be next week with Bush and Blair together at the White House. It really doesnt matter when they do it, because they have the Dems on record now with quotes from each of the Presidential candidates.
One thing Freepers need to understand, is that neither the media or the Dems matter a whit. The only thing that matters is how the public feels about Bush a year from November. Bush is wise to never engage in a pissing match with Democrats. He does his thing and ignores the media, which hate him for it.
The media will be unable to keep this current thing going without participation from Bush, and they are not going to get it. That is why they are trying to raise such a loud stink, because they want to try to get Bush off message.
Bush is not Nixon. He will not panic, nor will he pay any attention to what is going on in the Media. That is Karl Rove's job, and he does it better than anyone.

The DUI arrest was worth a full point in the popular vote. Small things can change elections. This would be bigger than the DUI arrest in changing the dynamics of the race.
Races aren't static. I recall a point in the 2000 race when the news media were discussing the possibility that Bush was dyslexic and what the implications of having such a handicapped person run for the White House would be because of something Bush had said. I thought then that we were in a tailspin we were so off message. We righted the ship, though just after that.

Any notion that bush is waiting till next August is sheer idiotcy. To think that Bush's distractors would'nt screem "politics" is hopelessly naive. I can here the America hating left now .."they were planted!!!!!"
