RENO, Nev. (AP) - Rock climbing will be banned at a popular site at Lake Tahoe under a new management plan announced by the U.S. Forest Service.
The decision released Thursday said Cave Rock - a volcanic formation held sacred by the Washoe Tribe - is a cultural resource worthy of protection.

This is a little much even for an agency riddled with incompetents and green zealots.

Rock-worshippers win. Another example of lunacy.

Rock-worshippers win. Another example of lunacy. Yeah, but I'd be pretty annoyed if people were rock-climbing the Vatican.

Washoe shaman Henry Rupert practiced religious rituals at Cave Rock until 1965. Can't wait until Michael Newdow takes this case on. What about the separation of rock and state?
Maybe the druids will beat him up.

I want tornadoes outlawed. They have no upshot and cost taxpayers millions each year.

Gustafson said the decision was not based on "North American religion versus climber conflict," but rather on "resource values versus user impacts." the BS meter is going off the scale. We all know that all non-Christian beliefs must be protected - regardless of the circumstances.

Sacred Rocks...
Similar to the Sacred Toads that prevent usage of other public land in Southern California.
ALL public use (hiking, biking, driving) of Silverado Canyon is prohibited from May through September (with more closures in the works) because a species of Toad lives there.
Watermelon politics in true form.
Green is Red - Just say NO to Communism.
