I know a guy here in Ohio who is one of the inspector for the State of Ohio for Rides at fairs as well as the ones at the Parks like King's Island.
He told me Never... Repeat... Never get on one of these things because they are hit and miss on safety and maintenance at best!

For instance, at Great America near Chicago, they had their first fatality this summer after 30 years of operations. That would be 1 death for every 150 million, or something like that.
