LOS ANGELES -- Gov. Gray Davis' supporters appealed to Latino voters Thursday by staging a press conference of Latino leaders who denounced the attempted recall of the governor and the Republican congressman who's financed the signature-gathering effort.
The press conference, coupled with a speech by Davis tonight at the Southwest Voters Registration Education Project's annual fund-raising dinner in Los Angeles, shows a renewed emphasis on winning over one of the fastest-growing segments of California's electorate.

It looks like someone in California is getting between a rock and a hard spot.
It is getting more interesting day by day.

Typical RAT playbook. When things start to get tough, the RATS play the race card. Soon, Gray Davis will be calling the recall effort as a violation of the voting rights of Latinos. The scary part about this tactic is that a liberal judge might actually buy that nonsense.

RATS and Latinos can play the race card all they want. At the end of the day, they must deal with the mathematics of a 38 plus billion dollar deficit. Raise taxes and you kill off the economic recovery and cause middle class flight (quality of life suffers and tax base disappears); or cut services and you pissed off the Latinos/poor who voted for the Dems. Either way the Dems/CA will die economically.

They will be checking the signatures closer on the petitions than the signatures at the polls. Heck, ya don't even have to show ID at the polls when you vote.

I don't know if you remember when Bob Dornan lost to Sanchez, but there were accusations then of illegals voting but Dornan couldn't get the RINO's in Congress to investigate. Dornan was my congressman at the time and between Sanchez's husband tearing down Dornan's signs and Sanchez who dropped her married name to cater to the Hispanic vote and their renting an apt in the district(they actually lived in LA) the fraud was blatant and illegalities were rampant. Dornan a true conservative was not well liked by the RINO's including Newt.

If the Latinos only realized like the rest of us the Dimwits don't care about anyone.
Maybe they do; but their alledged leaders are the same as ours. Greedy and corrupt.
I say go for the Davis recall and keep hitting where it hurts.

"The governor will have to make some decisions about doing some things he hasn't done yet to create passion among the Latino electorate," said Antonio Gonzalez, Southwest Voters president. Gonzalez also called for the governor to sign a bill he previously vetoed that would permit the state to issue driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants who work and have no criminal record.
Can we get the INS to attend these rallies?
To: NormsRevenge
Padilla and other elected officials at the press conference also played their political trump card, pointing out that Issa supported Proposition 187, the anti-illegal-immigration initiative that drove Latinos to register to vote in record numbers.Yeah, and 40% of those Latinos who were driven to register to vote because of Proposition 187 ended up voting yes on Proposition 187.

So, if Davis wants the support of Latino voters in the recall election, he must sign a bill that would give driver's licenses to Latino illegal aliens. Ahh, racial politics at it's finest!
