BATON ROUGE - Gov. Mike Foster intended to slam Public Service Commissioner Jay Blossman on his radio show Thursday, but a serial killer victim's mom struck back.
The issue was Foster's contention that "it is in poor taste" for Blossman, a Republican candidate for governor, to be running an ad critical of state officials for not funding the DNA lab and mandatory testing for felons because such a database might have stopped the South Louisiana serial killer early.

This exchange presents Foster as a "bully," who usually hurls his wrath against fellow Republicans, rather than Democrats. (Foster was a Democrat until 1995.) But the mother of the victim of the serial killer would have none of Foster's posturing: she stood up to the bully!
Notice how the newspaper's posted headline just does not capture the essence of this story.

Truth be told Foster still is Democrat and Criminal.

My opinion: Foster is emotionally and historically a traditional "Louisiana Democrat" at the state level but prefers Republican presidential candidates at the national level for economic and national security reasons.

The LA GOP shoots itself in the foot again. Last year, in-fighting of LA Republicans cost them both a Senate seat & a House seat. This year, they can't come to a consensus on who to support for Governor. LA Pubbies might enjoy quarreling amongst themselves.

I think he only ran as a Republican in order
to win the Governor's race.
Otherwise he simply a low life scum
and criminal.

Yea, Foster was following the clinton model of "triangulation," cutting off Republican support for other relatively weak candidates and garnering enough conservative backing to get himself into a general election with a liberal black Democrat, whom he was bound to defeat.
His family history is as Democrat as anyone's; however, I do think that he genuinely prefers Republican presidential candidates because of economic, judicial, and national security reasons. Otherwise, he would have been perfectly content to have remained a "Louisiana Democrat."

You know he comes form Edwards machine.
I think he really does not care nationally
one way or the other at heart.
He knows nationally Republicans are the
majority party in the state and therefore
he is going with them.
But he simply out for himself totally
and would never let any creed or principle
get in the way of self-interest and greed.
