The European mole is a small animal with a pointed snout, large digging forepaws and very small eyes. It has a thick, velvety coat designed to help it move both backwards and forwards in small tunnels in the soil. The mole's diet includes worms, insect larvae, beetles, slugs and other invertebrates. They are active day and night throughout the year.

I read about and implemented an interesting mole-killing technique a few years ago that involved a shovel, a garden hose, a lawn chair, and a bottle of beer.
